Old links keep working

Change the web address of a page, blog post, community, building or listing, and we redirect the old one for you (301).

The technical bits, done

Automatic sitemap and robots.txt on every site, structured data on the newer templates, and image descriptions for your photos.

How it works

Three steps

  1. Step 1: Open Website → SEO

In your admin, go to Website, then SEO. The checklist at the top shows what’s done and what’s left.

  2. Step 2: Write your title and description

Use the suggested text or write your own. The live preview shows how it can look on Google.

  3. Step 3: Add your site to Google

Paste your verification code, then submit your sitemap in Google Search Console. The guide walks you through it.

Website → SEO

A six-step checklist, in plain English.

Open the SEO page in your admin and you’ll see what’s done and what’s left. Each item has a button that takes you straight to the right place.

  1. Home page title
The blue headline people click on Google.
  2. Home page description
The short line under it that makes people choose you.
  3. Google or Bing verified
Paste the code they give you. It proves the site is yours.
  4. Sitemap submitted
Give Google your sitemap address. We show it with a Copy button.
  5. Logo uploaded
Your logo appears when your site is shared.
  6. Contact details added
Your name, phone and area help people (and Google) know who you are.
Already done for you

The technical side, handled.

You don’t have to set any of this up. It works on its own.

Sitemap and robots.txt

Every site has both, kept up to date for you.

301 redirects

When a page, blog post, community, building or listing changes its web address, the old address forwards to the new one.

Structured data

On the newer templates, breadcrumbs and blog post details help Google show richer results.

Image descriptions

Blog photos and listing and building galleries get alt text automatically.

An honest word about rankings.

No website builder can promise you the top spot on Google, and we won’t either. Rankings depend on your content, your area and time. SEO basics makes sure Google can find your site, understands what it’s about and shows it clearly. Writing about your neighbourhoods and keeping your listings current does the rest.

Later

SEO Pro

For agents who want more control, SEO Pro will come later: edit your own redirects and watch for broken links (404s). SEO basics stays free on every plan.

FAQ

SEO basics: questions

Is SEO basics free?

Yes. It’s included on every plan, including the 30-day free plan.

Will this put me at the top of Google?

No one can promise that. Rankings depend on many things, like your content, your area and how long your site has been around. SEO basics gets the groundwork right, so Google can find your site and show it clearly.

What’s on the SEO checklist?

Six items: a home-page title, a home-page description, Google or Bing verified, your sitemap submitted, your logo uploaded and your contact details added. Each one has a button that takes you to the right place.

Do I need a sitemap or robots.txt?

You already have both. Every site gets an automatic sitemap and robots.txt. The SEO page shows your sitemap address with a Copy button, so you can give it to Google.

What happens if I rename a page or listing?

When a page, blog post, community, building or listing gets a new web address, we add a 301 redirect from the old address. Old links and Google results still land on the right page.

What about image descriptions?

Photos in your blog posts and in listing and building galleries get a description (alt text) automatically. It helps Google understand your photos and helps visitors who use screen readers.

Is there more on the way?

Yes. SEO Pro will come later, with tools like editing your own redirects and a monitor for broken links (404s). SEO basics stays free.
