How does the mortgage calculator work it out?
On Canadian websites it uses a fixed rate compounded semi-annually, the way Canadian mortgages are calculated. Visitors choose the home price, down payment, interest rate, amortization and how often they pay.
Is the calculator’s answer exact?
It’s an estimate. It doesn’t include property taxes or fees (or, in Canada, mortgage default insurance), and the page says so.
Can visitors contact me from the calculator?
Yes. The page has a “Talk to me about financing” button that takes them to your contact page, and their messages land in your Leads inbox.
