A redirect sends visitors (and Google) from an address that no longer works — for example a page from your old website — to the right page.

Steps

  1. Open Redirects

Go to Website → SEO and scroll to Redirects.

  2. Add one redirect

Click Add redirect. Enter the Old address (e.g. /old-page; you can paste a full link of your website) and the New address (e.g. /about-us). Click Add redirect.

  3. Or import a spreadsheet

Click Import CSV and choose a file with two columns, old address and new address, one redirect per row (up to 500). Check the preview and click Import … redirects (it shows how many).

Questions

Can I fix a missing page in one click?

Yes. Under Missing pages (404) you see the addresses people tried to open; send each one to the right page.
