Festival marketing calendar for Canadian realtors (2026–2027)
The dates your clients celebrate, a month at a time — and how to greet them in a way that feels personal, not promotional.
Short answer
Plan greetings around the festivals your clients actually celebrate: in the next twelve months that includes Diwali (8 Nov 2026), Gurpurab (24 Nov), Hanukkah (from 4 Dec), Christmas, Lunar New Year (6 Feb 2027), Eid al-Fitr (9 Mar), Nowruz (21 Mar), Vaisakhi (14 Apr) and Canada Day. Keep the message about the occasion, not your listings, and use the greeting in the community’s own language where you can.
Canada’s real estate markets are some of the most diverse in the world. In much of the Lower Mainland, the GTA, Calgary and Edmonton, your clients celebrate Diwali and Christmas, Lunar New Year and Eid, Vaisakhi and Hanukkah — often several in the same family. A greeting on the right day, in the right language, tells people you see them. A generic “Happy Holidays” in late December doesn’t.
This calendar lists the festivals our customers most often greet, with the next date for each as of October 19, 2026, and one practical idea for each. Dates for lunar and lunisolar festivals can vary by a day between communities; we list the commonly observed date in Canada.

Ideas for each festival
Navratri & Dussehra · Oct 11 – Oct 20, 2026
Nine nights of garba and dandiya, ending with Dussehra. Community events are a natural place to show up in person.
Diwali · Nov 8, 2026
A warm greeting and a photo of your own diyas or rangoli. Many families host open homes; skip the sales pitch that week.
Gurpurab (Guru Nanak Jayanti) · Nov 24, 2026
A simple greeting in Punjabi and English. If you volunteer at a gurdwara langar, that says more than any post.
Hanukkah · Dec 4 – Dec 12, 2026
A greeting on the first night. Eight nights means you don’t have to post on the first day to be on time.
Christmas · Dec 25, 2026
A thank-you to clients for the year, with no offer attached. Send cards early; post on the day.
New Year · Jan 1, 2027
A short look back at the year in your market and one honest prediction. Bilingual greetings work well across Canada.
Lunar New Year · Feb 6, 2027
Greet in Chinese and English. Avoid number-four themes; red and gold decorations are welcome.
Eid al-Fitr · Mar 9, 2027
Greet at the end of Ramadan, not during the fast. Keep food-based promotions out of Ramadan altogether.
Nowruz · Mar 21, 2027
Persian New Year falls on the spring equinox. A haft-sin photo and a greeting in Persian are thoughtful touches.
Holi · Mar 22, 2027
Colourful, joyful photos. A good moment for a spring market update the following week.
Vaisakhi · Apr 14, 2027
Harvest festival and the founding of the Khalsa. Many cities hold a Nagar Kirtan parade, often on a weekend near the date; check your local one.
Eid al-Adha · May 16, 2027
A respectful greeting. Families often travel or gather, so it’s a poor week for open-house pushes.
Canada Day · Jul 1, 2027
Celebrate your town: a favourite local event, park or business. Great for a bilingual post.
Mid-Autumn Festival · Sep 15, 2027
Mooncakes and family. A greeting and a photo of your community’s lantern events.
Thanksgiving · Oct 11, 2027
Thank clients and referral partners by name (with permission) or with handwritten notes.
Five rules for festival marketing that feels right
- Make it about them, not you. A greeting is not an ad. Leave out listings, prices and “call me today”.
- Use their language — correctly. A greeting in Punjabi, Hindi, Chinese, Arabic, Persian or Hebrew means a lot. Have someone who speaks it check the spelling and script.
- Get the day right. A Diwali post a week late is worse than none. Some festivals span several days; greet at the start.
- Respect fasts and solemn days. No food giveaways during Ramadan; no party tone on days of remembrance.
- Be consistent. If you greet one community, greet the others you serve. Clients notice.
Where to greet
- Your website. A ribbon or banner on the day is seen by everyone who visits, including people who found you on Google.
- Email. Only to people who agreed to hear from you, with your details and an unsubscribe link, as Canada’s anti-spam law requires for commercial messages.
- Social media. Your brokerage name must still be on your business profile.
- In person. Community events, temples, gurdwaras, mosques and community centres — as a guest, not a salesperson.
Let your website handle the dates
RealtyTerminus Festival greetings show a ribbon and home-page badge on your website on the right dates, then disappear on their own. Tick the festivals you celebrate, choose a style, add your own message if you like, and add the greeting in its own language and script. It’s free on every plan.
Pair it with a seasonal headline using Live edit, and see how to turn it on in How to show festival greetings on your website.
Questions
Are these dates exact?
Dates for lunar and lunisolar festivals can shift by a day depending on the community, the moon sighting or the calendar a temple, gurdwara or mosque follows. We list the commonly observed date in Canada; check with your community if you’re unsure.
Is it okay to greet a festival I don’t celebrate?
Yes, when it’s sincere and about the people, not a sales pitch. A short greeting in the right language, on the right day, is usually welcome.
Should I run a promotion on a religious holiday?
Generally no. Keep greetings separate from offers, especially on days of prayer, fasting or remembrance.
Can my website show festival greetings automatically?
Yes. RealtyTerminus Festival greetings show a ribbon and badge on your website on the right dates, in the community’s language, free on every plan. You tick the festivals you want, choose a style and can add your own message.
