Which DNS records do I add for my domain?

Add one CNAME record: Host www (or your sub-domain), Value sites.realtyterminus.net; then forward the root domain to your www address. Your admin shows the exact values with Copy buttons.

After you click Connect on the Domain page, DNS setup shows the record for your domain. The usual setup for www.yourname.com is below.

Steps

  1. Open your DNS settings

Sign in where you bought your domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Cloudflare, Wix…) and open its DNS settings, also called “DNS records”, “Advanced DNS” or “Manage DNS”.

  2. Remove old records for the same host

Delete any existing CNAME, A or AAAA record whose Host/Name is www (or your sub-domain).

  3. Add the CNAME record

Add a record with Type CNAME, Host/Name www, Value/Points to sites.realtyterminus.net, TTL Automatic (or 1 hour). If your provider asks for the full name, enter www.yourname.com. On Cloudflare DNS set it to “DNS only” (grey cloud).

The DNS record to add: CNAME, host www, value sites.realtyterminus.net, TTL 3600 or Auto.
  4. Forward the root domain

Forward yourname.com to https://www.yourname.com with a Permanent (301) forward. Only if your DNS provider supports CNAME flattening, ALIAS or ANAME on the root (e.g. Cloudflare) can you point the root to sites.realtyterminus.net instead.

  5. Re-check

Back on the Domain page click Re-check DNS.

Questions

Should I change my MX records?

No. Don’t change your MX (email) records.

I use a sub-domain like homes.yourname.com. What changes?

The Host/Name is the sub-domain part (homes), and your website is served exactly at that address, without www. No forward is needed.
