# How to edit your website with Live edit

> Click Live edit in your admin to open your website in a new tab, click any outlined text or photo to change it, save a private draft and click Publish when you’re ready.

Live edit lets you change words and photos right where they sit on your website: headlines, your intro and bio, the numbers in your stats, page and blog text and images, and your logo. Listings, colours and settings stay in the admin.

## Steps

1. **Open Live edit.** Click **Live edit** at the top of the admin, next to **View site** (it’s also on Branding, and in the page and post editors). Your website opens in a new tab with every editable part outlined.

2. **Change text and photos.** Click a headline or paragraph and type. Click a photo and choose **Change photo** to replace it.
3. **Save a draft.** Click **Save draft** whenever you like. Drafts are private: visitors don’t see them. The button in the admin then says **Continue Live edit**.
4. **Publish.** Click **Publish**. Visitors see the new version straight away.

## Questions

### Can I throw a draft away?

Yes. Discard the draft and your website stays exactly as it was.

### I changed the same page in the admin. What happens?

If something changed in the admin since you started, Live edit asks before it publishes.
